With a façade designed by Michelangelo and interiors that could also be easily classed as works of art, the Villa San Michele is a suitably stunning base from which to explore the classical treasures of Florence.

Accommodation

Villa San Michele has 46 rooms, including 25 Suites and Junior Suites, located in the old monastery building and nestled amid the beautiful gardens, enjoying spectacular views, each with its own unique style and antique furnishings.

Solid walnut, Cotto tiles and Carrara marble have been used to great effect throughout beautifully lit interiors, whilst standard amenities include air-conditioning, mini-bars, satellite TV and DVDs.

Restaurants & Bars

Exceptionally high standards are mirrored in the Loggia restaurant, where gourmet Tuscan and regional specialities are complemented by fine Italian vintages.

The beautiful Cloister of the Old Monastery serves fine Tuscan cuisine in an elegant and historic setting, while in cooler weather, the Cenacolo room is warm and inviting with its sober colours and open fire. A fresco of the Last Supper has been carefully restored, bringing back the beauty of when it was first created in 1602.

Recreation

Relaxing at Villa San Michele comes naturally, with the unmatched views from the panoramic pool, whilst a small gymnasium allows guests to expend some energy without missing the beautiful views.

For the more adventurous mountain bikes are available for trips to Fiesole or Florence, where cyclists will find excellent pedestrian areas and cycle tracks.

Local golf clubs offer championship quality courses, whilst horse riding through the Tuscan countryside and tennis are all on hand nearby.

Villa San Michele School of Cookery

Due to its phenomenal success, the Villa San Michele School of Cookery has now become a permanent fixture, offering a wide range of gastronomy courses.

Tailored for foreign guests, the courses combine the discovery of local cuisine with trips to Chianti, wine tastings, and visits to Florence for boutique shopping and museums.
